Tej Pratap Yadav Electricity Bill Sparks New Controversy After Election Loss

Tej Pratap Yadav electricity bill controversy news report

Tej Pratap Yadav electricity bill has become the latest headline after his huge defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections. Tej Pratap Yadav electricity bill has reportedly reached several lakhs, yet his power supply was never cut. This has raised serious questions about special treatment and overdue recovery.

Reports say his Beur residence in Patna has not paid any electricity bill since July 2022. The dues have crossed ₹3.6 lakh. Officials said the last payment was made on July 20, 2022. Since then, no bill has been cleared till November 2025.

Another connection in his name, created in July 2012, also shows unpaid dues of ₹2.30 lakh with a late fee of ₹23,681, taking the total to ₹3.24 lakh. Both connections exceed the company rule, which states that postpaid meters with dues above ₹25,000 must be disconnected. But his supply stayed active.

This issue has come out at a time when Bihar is preparing for smart prepaid meters. Meanwhile, Tej Pratap also faced a major political setback, losing the Mahua seat by over 51,000 votes.
