Tejashwi follows Rahul Gandhi has become a fresh political debate in Bihar. Critics say Tejashwi follows Rahul Gandhi in skipping key Assembly sessions and travelling abroad during important events. His Europe trip during the Bihar Assembly proceedings has triggered strong reactions from BJP, JDU and AIMIM leaders.
BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain accused him of ignoring the Chhath festival and copying Rahul Gandhi’s style of leadership. He claimed that Tejashwi once celebrated Chhath at his home but now chooses Christmas celebrations abroad.
JDU MP Dileshwar Kamat also criticised him, saying that people have rejected the RJD and that Tejashwi’s absence even during the Governor’s address shows irresponsibility. He argued that Tejashwi is no longer fit to lead the Opposition.
AIMIM MLA Akhtarul Iman added that the absence of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Leader of the Opposition at the same time weakens democracy. He said Tejashwi’s behaviour is insensitive, especially when the Opposition is already limited in number.
