Ahead of the Rajya Sabha election in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav did not invite AIMIM leaders to a key Mahagathbandhan meeting held in Patna. AIMIM MLA Akhtarul Iman said his party received no invitation to attend the meeting.
Iman told the media that his party had no information about the gathering of alliance leaders. He said the meeting was an internal matter of Tejashwi Yadav and his allies. According to him, AIMIM will decide its stand on the Rajya Sabha election later.
Earlier, AIMIM asked the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) to support its candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat. However, Tejashwi Yadav later announced Amrendra Dhari Singh as the party’s candidate for the election.
Bihar will see a contest for the Rajya Sabha seats as six candidates are in the race for five seats. Political observers say Tejashwi Yadav did not invite AIMIM leaders, which shows growing distance between the two parties before the vote.
