Tejashwi Yadav Foreign Tour Sparks New Political Storm in Bihar

Tejashwi Yadav foreign tour sparks political debate in Bihar Assembly

The Tejashwi Yadav foreign tour has triggered fresh political debate in Bihar just days after the Grand Alliance suffered a heavy defeat. The Tejashwi Yadav foreign tour came at a sensitive time, giving rivals a chance to attack the opposition leader.

Leaders from the JD(U), BJP, and ruling alliance questioned Tejashwi Yadav’s absence from the Assembly. The issue gained traction after he skipped the Governor’s address on December 3.

VIP chief Mukesh Sahni defended Tejashwi Yadav. He said leaders also have personal lives and the opposition has given the government three months to perform. Sahni warned that if promises are not kept, the opposition will return strongly to the political battlefield.

Sahni also raised the issue of women welfare payments. He said the government must give ₹2 lakh to women who earlier received ₹10,000, or the opposition will intensify its agitation.

Reports say Tejashwi Yadav travelled to Europe with his wife and daughter. He attended the Assembly only on December 1 and 2, which added fuel to the controversy.

The Grand Alliance faced a humiliating loss in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. It secured only 35 seats in the 243-member House. RJD won just 25 seats, while the VIP failed to win even one.
