Tejashwi Yadav letter to Nitish Kumar demands crop damage compensation and relief for farmers in Bihar struck by severe weather. In his letter to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Yadav urged an immediate stop to loan recovery for affected farmers and farm workers.
Yadav said many districts faced heavy crop loss due to unseasonal rain, storms, and hailstorms. Wheat, maize, and pulses suffered major damage, while fruit crops like mango and litchi were also hit hard. Fatal accidents were reported during the extreme weather, increasing distress among rural families.
He asked the government to quickly assess losses and transfer compensation directly to victims’ bank accounts. Yadav also requested easy application procedures and more time to apply, so no one is left out of aid. He called for free supply of seeds and fertiliser in hardest‑hit areas.
Yadav said urgent action is needed to ease the burden on farmers and landless labourers.
