Hyderabad: Backward Classes leader and MP R. Krishnaiah announced that a statewide bandh will be held in Telangana on October 14 to protest the High Court’s stay on BC reservations in local body elections. Addressing a press conference, Krishnaiah said the bandh would be organized jointly with all Backward Class associations and organizations (TC unions).
He condemned the timing of the stay order, calling it “unjust and politically motivated” since it came after the election notification was issued. Krishnaiah urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and leaders of all political parties to extend support to the bandh in solidarity with the BC community.
He vowed to intensify the agitation in the style of a “Million March”, emphasizing that the movement will continue until full justice is restored to BCs in political representation. The call has already begun to draw statewide attention and support.
