Hyderabad: The BC Joint Action Committee (JAC) has announced a statewide Telangana Bandh on October 18, demanding protection and implementation of 42% reservations for Backward Classes. BC JAC Chairman R. Krishnaiah said the bandh, titled “Bandh for Justice,” aims to safeguard the rights of BC communities and protest against the legal hurdles that have stalled their representation.
Speaking after unveiling the bandh poster at Gun Park near the Amaraveerula Stupam in Nampally, Krishnaiah called on all social, political, and student organizations to extend support. Working Chairman Jajula Srinivas Goud and JAC leaders Rajarama Yadav and Krishna Ananthaiah were also present.
Krishnaiah emphasized that the fight for 42% BC reservations is a social justice movement, not a political one, and urged the state government to take proactive steps to ensure BC empowerment in local body elections and administration.
