Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Pledges Expedited Completion of SRLIP
Telangana Irrigation Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, popularly known as Uttam, on Friday assured that the ongoing Sriram Sagar Lift Irrigation Project (SRLIP) would be completed expeditiously to benefit farmers and strengthen water supply in the region. Speaking to the media, he emphasised that the government is committed to accelerating work on the project while ensuring quality and sustainability.
The SRLIP, aimed at utilising the Sriram Sagar reservoir to provide irrigation water to drought-prone areas, is expected to enhance agricultural productivity, support drinking water supply, and improve overall water management in the state. Minister Uttam said that priority is being given to timely completion of canals, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
He also highlighted that close monitoring and coordination with engineers, contractors, and local authorities are being undertaken to avoid delays. The minister urged farmers and stakeholders to cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth execution of the project, which is seen as a vital step for Telangana’s agricultural and economic development.
