Telangana Records 54.38% of Revenue Receipts by Q3; Tax Collections Cross 65%

Telangana’s total revenue receipts reached 54.38% of the annual target by the end of the third quarter, with three months remaining in the financial year, according to official data released on Sunday. The State has recorded strong tax collections, with revenue from taxes crossing the 65% mark by December-end, reflecting robust economic activity and improved compliance.
Officials said the major contributors to the revenue growth included Goods and Services Tax (GST), State excise, stamp duty, and motor vehicle taxes. Non-tax revenue, including dividends from State-owned corporations and fees, also showed steady performance, supporting the overall fiscal position.
The Finance Department expressed confidence that Telangana was on track to meet its annual revenue targets. Authorities highlighted that prudent fiscal management, combined with measures to enhance tax compliance and expand the revenue base, had helped maintain a healthy revenue inflow. The final quarter would be crucial to sustaining the momentum and ensuring adequate resources for planned development projects and welfare schemes.
