Telangana Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the state did not get fair budgetary support in the Union Budget 2026-27 despite having strong potential in sectors like biopharma and rare minerals. He pointed out that although Telangana has a growing biopharma ecosystem and potential rare earth resources, the Budget did not include funds or special support for these important areas that could create jobs and boost the state’s economy. Experts and leaders have urged the Centre to invest more in these sectors to make the state more competitive.

Bhatti and other state leaders also highlighted that several infrastructure projects and funds for development were not approved, leading to disappointment in Telangana. Many feel this lack of allocation shows unequal treatment of the state in central planning, even though it contributes significantly to the national economy. Calls for better support and a fair share of national funds continue as the state pushes its development goals
