Telangana Unveils Ambitious ₹15,279 Crore Tourism Plan to Drive Growth and Employment
Telangana has launched tourism projects worth ₹15,279 crore as part of its new Tourism Policy for 2025–2030, aiming to transform the state into a leading tourist destination. The announcement was made during a tourism conclave held at Shilparamam in Hyderabad. Under the policy, 30 new projects will be developed through public-private partnerships, expected to generate over 50,000 jobs and significantly boost the state’s tourism GDP. Key initiatives include a cruise boat at Muchukunda, a luxury wellness retreat at Ananthagiri, a vineyard resort with winery tours, and a tiger safari in Vikarabad. The government has also signed strategic collaborations with companies like BookMyShow, Rapido, and IRCTC to enhance event infrastructure, train bike taxi drivers as local guides, and improve rail connectivity to tourist sites. The overall focus is on sustainable development, employment.
