Hyderabad: A rift appears to be brewing within the Telangana Cabinet, with reports suggesting that Minister Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali have lodged a complaint with the Congress high command against Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
According to sources, the Konda couple alleged that Ponguleti was interfering excessively in the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara development works, particularly in the allocation of ₹71 crore worth of tenders, allegedly favoring his close associates.
Surekha, who heads the Endowments Department, is said to have expressed strong dissatisfaction over Ponguleti’s growing influence and encroachment on her ministry’s jurisdiction. She reportedly raised the issue with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, seeking intervention. The matter has sparked discussions in political circles about internal power tussles within the Congress government, especially over control of major temple-related projects and festival management contracts.
