Thalapathy Vijay Retirement From Acting has created a massive wave of emotions among fans worldwide. Tamil cinema’s biggest superstar has officially announced his exit from films after an illustrious 33-year career. Vijay made the announcement during the audio launch of his upcoming film Jana Nayakan, directed by H. Vinoth, held in Malaysia. The 51-year-old actor confirmed that this film will be his final appearance on the big screen.
Vijay began his cinematic journey at the age of 10 as a child artist in Vetri. He later made his debut as a lead actor with Naalaiya Theerpu in 1992. Over the years, he delivered several blockbuster films and became a cultural phenomenon with an unmatched fan base.
Addressing his supporters, Vijay said cinema gave him identity, respect, and love, but the time has come to serve people beyond films. He revealed that he will now dedicate himself completely to politics. Last year, he launched his political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam. The party is set to contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Vijay also highlighted that he wants to stand for people for the next three decades, just as fans stood for him in theatres. Notably, he has not delivered a box-office flop since Puli in 2015.
