The thinking of BJP people is poisonous, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said on Friday while attacking the BJP over a controversial statement made by Girdhari Lal Sahu. Tejashwi said such comments show how the party thinks about women and Bihar.
He reacted after a video linked to Girdhari Lal Sahu, husband of a BJP minister, went viral on social media. In the video, Sahu allegedly made insulting remarks about women from Bihar. The clip triggered public anger and sharp political reactions.
Tejashwi Yadav said the BJP keeps talking about respect for women but its leaders and their families make offensive statements. He added that such thinking damages the image of Bihar and disrespects its women. According to him, the BJP should first correct its mindset before giving lectures to others.
Opposition parties also joined the attack and demanded strict action. They said the BJP must clarify its stand and take responsibility for the remarks. Many leaders called the statement shameful and unacceptable.
After the controversy grew, Girdhari Lal Sahu issued an apology. He said his words were misunderstood and claimed he had no intention to insult anyone. Despite this, Tejashwi maintained that the thinking of BJP people is poisonous and needs to change.
