TN CM Stalin reviews rain preparedness

CHENNAI – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reviewed the state’s preparedness in view of heavy rain warnings. He chaired a meeting of the Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority at the Secretariat on November 27, 2025.

During the meeting, CM Stalin emphasized the importance of proactive measures to minimize damage and ensure public safety. He instructed departments to remain alert and coordinate closely for timely response across all affected districts.

Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam, senior police officials, and heads of Revenue and Disaster Management, Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Home, School Education, Municipal Administration, and Water Supply Departments participated in the discussion.

Officials outlined the steps being undertaken, including monitoring river levels, mobilizing rescue teams, and preparing relief shelters. CM Stalin asked local authorities to ensure that communication channels remain open and that residents receive timely updates about weather conditions.

The Chief Minister also directed schools and offices in vulnerable areas to follow safety protocols. He stressed that coordinated action and public awareness are key to preventing casualties and minimizing disruption during heavy rains.
