The United States has introduced the Trump Gold Card Visa, a new investment-driven residency programme announced by President Donald Trump. The initiative aims to attract high-net-worth individuals and global companies that are ready to invest at least $1 million in the American economy. It is positioned as a faster and more profitable alternative to the long-standing EB-5 visa system.

The programme accepts two types of applicants. Individuals can apply if they are eligible for permanent residency and clear all US admissibility checks. Corporations may sponsor foreign employees by committing a higher investment. Spouses and unmarried children under 21 may also join the application for additional fees.

Applicants start the process at the official portal, trumpcard.gov. They must select their card type, create a myUSCIS account, and pay a non-refundable processing fee of $15,000. After a Homeland Security review, successful applicants must pay a $1 million investment, while corporate sponsors must pay $2 million per employee. Payments are accepted through credit cards, ACH debit, or international wire transfers.

The Gold Card provides permanent residency, quicker processing than traditional visa routes, and a pathway to citizenship. However, applicants face full US tax obligations and risk programme revocation for security or criminal issues.
