Tummala Nageswara Rao Seeks Greenfield Airport and Urea Supply in Delhi Meetings

Tummala Rao Delhi meetings focus on Kothagudem Greenfield Airport and urgent urea supply request for Telangana farmers in Kharif season.

Telangana Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, during his Delhi visit on Tuesday, held meetings with Union Ministers Rammohan Naidu and Anupriya Patel on key state issues.

In his discussion with Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu, Rao raised the demand for a Greenfield Airport at Kothagudem. He explained the strategic importance of the project for improving connectivity and boosting economic development in the coal belt region. The minister urged the Centre to expedite clearances and extend full support for the proposal.

Later, Rao met Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Anupriya Patel to discuss the acute urea shortage in Telangana. He explained that farmers were facing difficulties during the ongoing Kharif season due to inadequate supply. The state requires an additional 2 lakh metric tonnes of urea, he emphasized.

Responding to the appeal, Anupriya Patel assured that the Centre would arrange necessary supplies at the earliest. She said the ministry was committed to supporting Telangana farmers during the crucial cropping season. Rao expressed confidence that timely action would help address the fertilizer crisis and ease pressure on cultivators across the state.
