Turkish Military C‑130 Plane Crashes in Georgia, 20 On Board
A Turkish military transport plane, a Lockheed C‑130, crashed in Georgia near the Azerbaijan border while returning from Azerbaijan to Türkiye. The aircraft disappeared from radar without sending a distress signal, prompting search and rescue operations in coordination with Georgian and Azerbaijani authorities. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed deep sorrow, referring to those on board as “our martyrs,” indicating fatalities. The crash occurred in the Sighnaghi Municipality region of Georgia’s Kakheti province, about 5 km from the Azerbaijani border. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and assessing the wreckage.
