Two MLAs, Bharat Bind from Bhabhua and Sangeeta Kumari from Mohania, have resigned ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Both leaders had earlier won the 2020 elections as RJD candidates. However, in 2024, they joined the BJP. Their resignations have been accepted by the Assembly Speaker. These Bihar MLAs resign from RJD to prepare for the polls on BJP tickets.
RJD had requested the Speaker to revoke their memberships after they switched sides, but no action was taken. Both Bharat Bind and Sangeeta Kumari confirmed their resignations. Sangeeta Kumari stated she is actively engaging with people in her constituency and will contest the election on a BJP ticket. Bharat Bind said his resignation was needed for technical reasons, as BJP would not have given him a ticket otherwise. The BJP has not yet announced its full candidate list, but both leaders are confident about their chances.
