Air travel across the United Arab Emirates has begun recovering after days of disruption caused by escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Authorities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have restarted limited flight operations to ease passenger congestion.
An Etihad Airways flight, EY216, departed Abu Dhabi at 3:42 pm and landed in New Delhi at 8:31 pm on Monday, according to Flightradar24. The aircraft carried passengers stranded during the regional airspace closures.
Dubai’s government confirmed that Flydubai resumed a limited schedule from Monday evening. Emirates also restarted select services, prioritising passengers with existing bookings. Most other flights remain suspended until further notice.
Operations at Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi partially resumed. At least 15 Etihad aircraft departed within three hours to clear transit passengers.
India’s aviation ministry reported 357 flight cancellations. Air India Express will resume Muscat services on March 3, but continues suspensions to several Gulf destinations.
The reopening follows reported Iranian strikes near Dubai’s airport. Despite injuries and widespread disruption, authorities say passenger safety remains the top priority.
