The Vande Mataram and National Anthem Order issued by the Bihar government makes it compulsory to start all official programmes with patriotic songs. The government led by Samrat Choudhary has directed all departments to follow this rule during government events.
Under the Vande Mataram and National Anthem Order, every official programme will begin with the national song “Vande Mataram,” followed by the national anthem “Jana Gana Mana.” After these songs, the scheduled event or ceremony will continue as planned.
The General Administration Department has sent the directive to all departments, divisional commissioners, district magistrates and the Director General of Police. Officials must ensure the rule is followed at every government function across the state.
The government also said that programmes should end with the Bihar state song. Educational institutions have also received similar instructions. Schools and colleges should start activities with “Vande Mataram” and then sing the national anthem before beginning their daily work.
Authorities say the move will bring uniformity in respecting national symbols at official events across Bihar.
