Vinayaka Idol in CM Revanth Reddy’s Getup Sparks Row; Raja Singh Files Complaint

Ganesh idol in CM Revanth Reddy’s getup sparks controversy in Hyderabad pandal

Hyderabad: A fresh controversy emerged in Goshamahal constituency when a Ganesh idol styled in the getup of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was placed at a pandal in Habeebnagar. The idol drew sharp criticism from BJP MLA Raja Singh, who argued that such actions disrespect Hindu traditions.

Raja Singh immediately wrote to the Hyderabad Police Commissioner demanding that the idol be removed. He stressed that while some supporters may have seen it as an act of respect, equating a political leader with a deity is unacceptable. According to him, the installation risks hurting the religious feelings of devotees.

The BJP MLA warned that politicizing Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations could disturb peace and harmony. He insisted that religious festivals should remain spiritual and not be converted into political platforms. He urged authorities to act quickly and dismantle the pandal before tensions escalate further.

This incident has triggered heated debate in the city, with many calling for sensitivity during religious events. It highlights the growing friction between political symbolism and faith in Telangana. As celebrations continue, police have been asked to ensure that public sentiments are respected and law and order is maintained.
