The Election Commission announced that Bihar voter ID cards will reach homes within 15 days of publishing the final voter list. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said only new voters and those who changed their name, age, or address will get new Bihar voter ID cards.
About 74.2 million voters supported the Summary Intensive Revision (SIR). The Commission deleted 6.8 million ineligible names after full checking. Political parties must appoint polling agents at every booth to ensure fair voting. These agents will watch mock polling and collect Form 17 after voting.
Gyanesh Kumar said Aadhaar can be used for voter verification, but it doesn’t prove citizenship or age. Political parties can report any voter list mistakes to the Commission.
Expenditure officers will watch candidate spending to prevent overspending. Every candidate must also share their criminal record. The Commission promised to deliver voter ID cards quickly and fairly to every eligible voter.
