Vijayawada police arrested film producer Dasari Kiran Kumar, who is associated with the upcoming Telugu movie Vyuham. The arrest took place in Hyderabad after his relative Gajula Mahesh filed a complaint against him, accusing him of assault and financial fraud.
According to Mahesh, Kiran borrowed ₹4.5 crore for movie production but failed to return the money. When Mahesh demanded repayment, Kiran allegedly instructed his followers to attack him. Acting on this complaint, the Patamata police registered a case and later detained Kiran in Hyderabad.
Kiran has been part of the Telugu film industry for several years under his banner Ramadootha Creations. He earlier worked with director Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) on films like Vangaveeti and Siddhartha. His current project Vyuham has been in the news even before its release. However, the controversy and his arrest have now shifted focus to legal troubles.
Police officials confirmed that questioning is underway and further details will come out during the investigation. The incident has created a stir in the Telugu film industry. It also sparked fresh discussions on financial risks, loans, and disputes that often surround high-budget productions.
