Senior TDP leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on January 11, 2026, criticized Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s comments on Amaravati, calling them a reflection of his political immaturity. Speaking in Vijayawada, Yanamala highlighted that Jagan’s attacks on the former capital region undermine its historical and developmental significance.
The TDP leader pointed out that many prominent cities around the world have flourished along rivers, emphasizing that such locations are ideal for administrative and cultural growth. “The most famous example is the Danube River, which passes through four capital cities in Europe,” he said, underscoring the strategic and historical importance of riverfront capitals.
Yanamala Ramakrishnudu urged the government to focus on constructive development rather than engaging in political propaganda. He stressed that Amaravati has immense potential for growth and prosperity, and its development should be prioritized for the benefit of farmers, residents, and the broader region.
