Former minister Gudivada Amarnath has claimed that the YSRCP government established 17 new medical colleges during its tenure, ensuring access to medical education for the poor. Speaking after inspecting the medical college in Narsipatnam, Amarnath said each institution was built with an investment of ₹500 crore, reflecting the party’s commitment to healthcare and education.

He strongly criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, alleging that the current government is attempting to privatize these colleges. Amarnath accused Naidu of prioritizing private interests over public welfare, arguing that facilities meant to provide affordable education to disadvantaged students are now being commercialized.

Highlighting YSRCP’s initiatives, he said the party worked to make medical education accessible to rural and underprivileged communities. In contrast, he alleged that the TDP government is undermining these efforts. His remarks come amid rising political debate over the future of Andhra Pradesh’s healthcare and education infrastructure.
