The issue was discussed in the Bihar Assembly. Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar directed officials to take steps so families can receive ₹10 lakh instead of ₹4 lakh. At present, the Disaster Management Department gives ₹4 lakh to the victim’s family.
The government now plans to treat snake bite deaths under wildlife-related compensation rules. This step will allow authorities to provide 10 lakh rupees for snake bite victim family in Bihar under a higher relief category.
Officials will soon complete the required process. The decision aims to offer stronger financial support to affected families across the state.
