46 Scrub Typhus Cases Reported in Annamayya District
Health authorities have identified 46 cases of scrub typhus in Annamayya district, raising concern among officials. The cases were detected in and around the Madanapalle region during recent health screenings and hospital visits. Medical teams have been alerted, and treatment is being provided to all affected patients.
District health officials said that scrub typhus is a bacterial infection spread through bites from infected mites, commonly found in bushes and grassy areas. They advised people to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and avoid exposure to dense vegetation, especially during the rainy season.
Awareness programmes are being conducted to educate the public about symptoms such as fever, headache, body pain, and skin rashes. Doctors have urged people to seek medical attention immediately if symptoms appear.
The health department has intensified surveillance and preventive measures to control further spread of the disease and ensure public safety.
