Mukesh Sahni’s Seat Struggle in Grand Alliance

Bihar’s Son of Mallah Mukesh Sahni faces another seat-sharing struggle in the Grand Alliance amid CM–Deputy CM uncertainty.

Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni, also called the Son of Mallah, is again in Bihar’s political spotlight. His recent tweet about “choosing the path of struggle” shows his frustration over seat-sharing in the Grand Alliance. He once asked for 60 seats but later reduced it to 44 and then 14. Sahni now demands to be named Deputy Chief Minister before the elections.

The Congress and RJD differ on this issue. Congress leaders avoid naming a CM or Deputy CM candidate, while Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD pushes his name forward. If no decision comes soon, Sahni may quit the Grand Alliance.

In 2020, Sahni accused RJD of betrayal and joined the NDA. The BJP gave him 11 seats, but after the 2022 UP polls he lost his ministerial post. Now, both alliances are trying to win him back.

Sahni’s political future depends on the seat deal. If the Grand Alliance fails to satisfy him, he could align with a smaller party or even rejoin the BJP. For the Son of Mallah, the struggle continues on Bihar’s political river.
