Hyderabad: City Election Officer Karnan announced that the distribution of voter slips for the upcoming elections will begin on October 22 and be completed by November 5. Speaking at a review meeting with officials on Saturday, Karnan emphasized that timely and complete voter slip distribution is a critical part of the election process.
He issued a stern warning that criminal cases would be filed against officials or volunteers who fail to deliver voter slips to eligible voters as per the Election Commission of India’s guidelines. The officer instructed all teams to strictly follow the commission’s directives to ensure transparency and voter accessibility.
He also directed zonal officers to monitor the distribution process closely and address any complaints immediately. The move aims to ensure that every registered voter in Hyderabad receives their voter slip well before polling day.
