Bihar Elections have once again turned tense in Mokama district after Independent candidate Rahul Kumar was brutally attacked by three youths late at night. The incident happened near Teraha Chowk on November 9 when Rahul Kumar was riding his scooter. Suddenly, a Tata Safari car blocked his way, and the attackers assaulted him with sticks and rods. Rahul Kumar sustained severe facial injuries, and his gold chain was snatched during the attack.
Rahul immediately informed the police and filed a complaint at Mokama Police Station. He named Shivam alias Golu, Satyam Kumar, and one unknown person from Ward No. 18 as the main culprits. He alleged that the attackers even tried to crush his scooter and threatened to kill him for contesting the elections.
Police have assured a fair investigation and deployed extra forces to prevent further tension. The situation remains sensitive since JDU leader Anant Singh is already jailed for the murder of Dularchand Yadav during the campaign. Meanwhile, Suraj Bhan Singh’s wife, Veena Devi, is contesting from the RJD. Mokama continues to be a political hotspot during the Bihar Elections.
