CM’s Sharp Warning to Finance Dept on Delayed Salaries

CM questions Telangana salary payment issue and orders timely release of outsourcing and contract staff salaries across departments.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was reportedly upset with the Finance Department for not ensuring timely salaries to outsourcing and contract employees. He reminded officers that clear orders were issued earlier to pay these workers through the green channel. According to reports, he received information from intelligence and employee unions about salary delays across districts.

A review meeting was held two days ago with senior officials from the Finance Department and other departments. During the discussion, the Chief Minister questioned why salaries were not being released on time. He expressed concern that low-paid workers were facing hardship because their earnings were not reaching them as scheduled.

The Chief Minister reportedly pointed out that regular employees were receiving their salaries on the first day of every month. He strongly advised that small workers should also receive payments within the first week. He said timely salaries would motivate employees to deliver government schemes and development programmes more effectively.

State sources indicate that more than two lakh outsourcing workers are employed in various departments. Many have been facing long delays in payments. The Chief Minister warned that such negligence could affect the government’s image and directed officials to ensure timely salaries from next month.
