Patna Car Fire Triggers Chaos Under Raja Bazaar Flyover

Patna car fire under Raja Bazaar flyover causes panic, traffic jams, and vehicle damage; short circuit suspected.

Patna car fire created panic on Monday evening near pillar number 73 under the Raja Bazaar flyover in the Airport police station area. The Patna car fire broke out suddenly and spread within minutes, shocking commuters and shopkeepers nearby.

The burning car quickly engulfed five parked bikes and two bicycles. Thick smoke filled the area, forcing people to run for safety. Traffic police stopped movement on both sides of Nehru Path for nearly an hour.

This led to a massive traffic jam of around three kilometers. Vehicles were stuck till Sheikhpura, causing severe inconvenience to residents of Rajabazar, Khajpura, and nearby localities.

Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and controlled the blaze after sustained efforts. Officials said it was fortunate the flames did not reach nearby shops, or losses could have been much higher.

The incident occurred at 6:29 pm when the driver tried to start the car. Sparks flew from the engine, and the vehicle caught fire instantly. The driver escaped unharmed.

Preliminary investigation suggests a short circuit caused the fire. The car owner is yet to be identified.
