Ask Choice From Doctors Before Stopping Their Private Practice – BHSA Says

Ask choice from doctors before stopping their private practice – BHSA statement

The Ask choice from doctors before stopping their private practice demand was raised by the Bihar Health Service Association (BHSA). The association urged the Bihar government to hold talks with doctors before banning private practice. BHSA said a sudden decision could harm doctors and affect healthcare services.

In its statement, BHSA said the government should ask choice from doctors before stopping their private practice and consider their views seriously. The association stressed that doctors who agree to stop private work must receive a non-practice allowance as compensation.

BHSA leaders said the state should form a committee and hold discussions before implementing any policy. They also asked the government to improve facilities for government doctors. Better working conditions, similar to major medical institutes, were highlighted as a key demand.

The association further demanded support measures such as government housing, workplace security, and assistance for doctors’ children’s education. BHSA spokesperson Dr. Vinay Kumar said policy changes without consultation would be unfair.

He warned that ignoring doctors’ concerns could lead to strong opposition. BHSA maintained that cooperation and dialogue would help improve public healthcare without affecting doctors’ rights.
