A new property linked to Corrupt DSP Gautam Kumar has surfaced during an ongoing investigation into alleged illegal assets. Officials found a two-storey house in Siliguri registered in the name of his alleged girlfriend, Shagufta Shamim. The property was reportedly registered in July 2025 at the Bagdogra registration office. Investigators believe Corrupt DSP Gautam Kumar may have used associates to hide assets obtained through illegal income.
The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) discovered the house while probing disproportionate assets connected to the former Kishanganj SDPO. After the discovery, officials asked Gautam Kumar to appear again for questioning and bring related documents.
Authorities continue to examine property records and financial transactions linked to the case. The investigation focuses on whether more assets were purchased under the names of relatives or close associates. Officials say the probe will continue until the full extent of the assets becomes clear.
