Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has intensified preparations for Godavari Pushkaralu 2027. He said the government’s main goal is to conduct pollution-free Godavari Pushkaralu and protect the river from sewage and industrial waste.
During his visit to the united Godavari districts, Pawan Kalyan reviewed pollution levels in the river and instructed officials to take immediate corrective action. He stressed that pollution-free Godavari Pushkaralu should become a model for future religious events in the state.
Officials identified 262 Pushkar panchayats across six districts. The Deputy CM ordered authorities to convert them into sewage-free zones before the Pushkaralu begin. He also directed municipalities to build sewage treatment plants based on local capacity.
Pawan Kalyan said the government could use Rs 100 crore sanctioned by the Pollution Control Board for river-cleaning works. He added that officials would closely monitor factories and pollution sources through control rooms and RTGS systems.
