The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) intensified its crackdown on corruption in Rajasthan by arresting an Assistant Sub Inspector red-handed while accepting a ₹1 lakh bribe in Beawar district. The dramatic operation unfolded at the Pipliya Kalla police outpost under Raipur police station limits.

The accused, ASI Bhaga Ram, allegedly demanded the bribe in exchange for filing a Final Report (FR) in a pending case. Frustrated by repeated demands, the complainant approached the Pali ACB unit. After verification, the bureau planned a trap under the direction of ACB Director General Govind Gupta and supervision of ASP Kheev Singh Rathore.

As soon as the bribe money exchanged hands, the ACB team moved in. Sensing trouble, the ASI panicked and attempted to escape by jumping over a wall and running towards nearby fields. The officers chased him down and caught him moments later. During the escape attempt, the ASI reportedly fractured his leg.

The ACB confirmed that the accused was taken for medical examination before being shifted to Pali for further legal proceedings. Officials described the operation as precise and intelligence-based.

The arrest comes just days after the ACB caught a medical college principal in a separate bribery case, underlining the agency’s aggressive stance against corruption across the state.
