The famous Balapur Ganesh Laddu in Hyderabad once again set a new record at auction this year. The 23-kg laddu , considered highly auspicious, was sold for ₹35 lakh, breaking last year’s record of ₹30.01 lakh. Lingala Dasharath Goud from Karmanghat successfully bid and secured the laddu, continuing the long-standing tradition.
The Balapur laddu auction, which began in 1994 with a modest winning bid of just ₹450 , has now grown into a major highlight of Ganesh Chaturthi festivities in Telangana. Over the years, the auction price has consistently risen, reflecting the immense faith and enthusiasm of devotees who believe the laddu brings prosperity and good fortune.
This year, as many as 38 participants took part in the bidding, further intensifying the competition. The record-breaking price has once again put Balapur in the spotlight, symbolizing devotion, tradition, and community spirit.
