Discussions on the Bihar BJP president race have grown stronger after Dilip Jaiswal entered the Nitish Kumar cabinet. As the party follows the “one person, one position” rule, it now needs a new state president. Leaders say the search has already begun. Social balance is important in Bihar politics, so names from Brahmin, Dalit, and Extremely Backward Classes are being considered. The Bihar BJP president race now includes several strong contenders.
A senior party leader has prepared a shortlist of three names. This panel will go to the central leadership for approval. The new president will likely be chosen early next year. Since Jaiswal is from the Kalwar caste, an EBC group, the party may look at different communities to maintain social reach.
Janak Ram leads the Dalit category. He has served as a minister and MP, and he was with the BSP earlier. From the EBC group, MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia is emerging as a key name. He has strong organisational work and a long link with the BJP.
Among Brahmin leaders, Mithilesh Tiwari, Nitish Mishra, and Vivek Thakur are in the race. All three have experience and support inside the party.
