BRS leader and Legislative Council Opposition Leader S. Madhusudana Chary accused the Congress government of betraying Backward Classes (BC) reservation. He said the party failed to honor major promises.
At a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, Madhusudana Chary stated that Congress promised 42% reservation in local bodies. The party also pledged ₹20,000 crore annually for BC welfare. None of these promises have been implemented. He called it a serious betrayal of the BC community.
Madhusudana Chary added that Congress misled Hyderabad voters. He urged the people of Jubilee Hills to reject Congress in the upcoming by-election. According to him, the party has lost the trust of marginalized communities.
He explained that implementing 42% reservation requires a constitutional amendment. Madhusudana Chary called on the state government to press the Centre for proper BC representation. He emphasized that welfare measures must reach BCs across Telangana.
