Andhra Pradesh moved forward with two major development projects as Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched the Drone City and Space City virtually on Saturday. Because these projects support his long-term vision to make the state a Green Hydrogen Valley, they received strong attention from officials. The Chief Minister earlier announced that both cities would boost innovation across the state.
Chandrababu explained that the new cities would create fresh opportunities in advanced technology. Moreover, he said the projects would help attract global investors and research institutions. The government expects rapid expansion since both initiatives aim to strengthen industrial growth. Additionally, he noted that modern infrastructure would accelerate AP’s progress.
The state selected 300 acres in Orvakallu, Kurnool district, for the development of both cities. Because the project required national-level support, Chandrababu requested assistance from the Central Government. The Centre responded positively and agreed to extend cooperation. Therefore, officials believe the partnership will speed up construction and planning.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal attended the CII conference in Visakhapatnam on Friday. He later joined Chandrababu in the virtual foundation ceremony for the two projects. Thus, the event officially began the groundwork for Drone City and Space City. Finally, officials stated that the projects would strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s capabilities in drone and aerospace technology.
