The Election Commission in Bihar has not shared any updates for two days on the final claims and objections to the draft voter list. September 1 was the last date for filing claims. The Commission had assured the Supreme Court that objections would be accepted until the last day of nomination for the Assembly polls.
After the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of rolls on August 1, voters could submit claims until September 1. Usually, the Commission released daily figures at 10 AM, but no data has been issued since September 1. This sudden silence has raised concern among voters and political parties.
During a Supreme Court hearing, officials promised that valid claims would be added before polling. As per the plan, applications filed by September 1 will be resolved by September 25. The final electoral roll will be published on September 30. On September 1, until 12:51 PM, 144 applications were filed—25 for inclusion and 119 for deletion. BJP, RJD, and CPI-ML submitted claims, though participation was limited.
Meanwhile, around 65 lakh voters face issues due to duplication or missing names. Separately, Urdu TET aspirants in Patna protested near JD(U) offices over pending results.
