The Centre has reassured farmers about fertilizer stocks for Kharif season, saying there will be no shortage during the upcoming sowing period. Officials said the government has built sufficient reserves and planned supplies to meet the seasonal demand across the country.
According to the Department of Fertilizers, the fertilizer stocks for Kharif season are currently strong and well managed. The government has asked farmers not to panic buy or store excess fertilizer, as supplies will reach every state and district based on demand.
Authorities said domestic production and imports continue to strengthen availability. India currently holds fertilizer stocks covering more than 51% of the expected seasonal demand. Officials say this level is higher than the usual buffer stock required for the season.
The government also confirmed that prices of major fertilizers, including urea and other nutrient-based fertilizers, will remain stable. Officials are monitoring distribution closely and working with state governments to ensure farmers receive fertilizers on time and at the correct price.
