Governor Breaks Jay’s Oath Taking: Swearing-In Delayed Over Lack of Majority

Governor Breaks Jay’s Oath Taking amid majority crisis in Tamil Nadu

Governor Breaks Jay’s Oath Taking, creating fresh tension in Tamil Nadu politics. Reports earlier said that Vijay would take oath as Chief Minister, but the Governor’s office stopped the process due to a lack of clear majority.

Officials said the government formation requires at least 118 MLAs in the assembly. However, Vijay’s alliance currently has support from only 116 members. Because of this shortfall, the Governor decided to delay the swearing-in ceremony.

So far, only a few parties have submitted support letters to the Governor’s office. Congress, CPI, and CPM sent their letters, but key parties like VCK and IUML have not yet submitted official support. This delay created uncertainty around the formation of the new government.

Meanwhile, leaders of Vijay’s party are trying to gather the remaining support needed to cross the majority mark. Governor Breaks Jay’s Oath Taking decision has increased political discussions across the state.
