A new controversy erupted in Bihar after a viral video of Bhagalpur’s Gopalpur MLA Narendra Kumar Neeraj, also called Gopal Mandal, appeared online. In the clip, he attacked JDU leader and former MP Bulu Mandal. He also insulted a woman leader, saying she should be “chased away” if she came to seek votes.
The video, recorded at an event in Ismailpur block, showed Gopal Mandal telling people that he alone developed the area. He said he brought electricity and roads. He urged voters not to support Bulu Mandal, who had lost both MP and MLA elections. Speaking in Angika, he declared, “Ismailpur was saved by me.”
He added that poor people gave him strength. He even claimed he could “take up arms” for them if needed. Later, when reporters asked about the clip, Gopal Mandal denied making such remarks. He said he was only meeting locals to discuss issues.
Bulu Mandal stayed calm. He said he would not react to Gopal Mandal’s comments and would not send a legal notice. The clash stirred strong reactions on social media and highlighted Bihar’s sharp political rivalry.
