Jubilee Hills By-Poll Counting: Early Lead Raises Big Questions

Jubilee Hills By-Election counting shows early Congress lead as key divisions shift focus and final outcome remains uncertain.

The Jubilee Hills by-election result is being announced as counting continues. Votes from the Sheikhpet Division have been completed. In the second round, the Congress registered 9,691 votes, while the BRS secured 8,609 votes. Together, both rounds have given the Congress a lead of 1,144 votes.

By the end of two rounds, the BJP received only 307 votes. A total of 31,182 votes were polled in the Sheikhpet Division. A slight advantage has been recorded for the Congress here. The party had focused on this division from the beginning and expected a larger lead. However, it managed to stay ahead with a margin of 1,144 votes over the BRS.

The BRS expected silent voters to support its candidate. Those expectations were not met, resulting in a setback for the party. With the counting in Sheikhpet completed, attention has now shifted to the Vengalrao Nagar and Somajiguda divisions.

These two divisions have a higher presence of settlers and upper-middle-class voters. The direction of these votes could impact the final result. Whether the BRS candidate can overtake the Congress will be known as the next rounds are counted.
