Lok Sabha Suspends Eight Congress MPs Amid Uproar Over Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks

The Lok Sabha suspended eight Congress MPs for the rest of the Budget session after a big uproar in the House on Tuesday. The suspension happened because the MPs were accused of disrupting the proceedings and throwing papers near the Chair during a protest. The row started when Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi tried to speak about the India–China conflict by quoting an article about an unpublished book by former Army chief General MM Naravane. His remarks were strongly objected to by members of the ruling party, and the Speaker and ministers asked him to stick to the President’s Address debate, but the disruption continued. The clashes forced the Lok Sabha to adjourn for the day. The suspended MPs include leaders like Hibi Eden, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Manickam Tagore and others. After the suspension, the House could not function and was adjourned amid continued protests and chaos.
