Congress MLA Omkar Singh Markam has questioned the security of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly after a sandalwood tree was illegally cut within the premises. He said the incident shows how fearless thieves have become. On the fourth day of the Assembly session, Congress staged a protest over budget cuts in government schemes. One protester wore a monkey costume, drawing sharp criticism from BJP leaders Vishwas Sarang and Rameshwar Sharma.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav released three cheetahs—female cheetah Veera and her two cubs—at Kuno National Park on International Cheetah Day. With this, the total number of cheetahs in Madhya Pradesh has reached 32. The project began in 2022 when eight cheetahs were brought under PM Modi’s Cheetah Project.

Earlier today, CM Yadav also launched shikara services at Bhopal’s Upper Lake, inspired by Kashmir’s Dal Lake. He said the fleet of 20 shikaras will boost water tourism and help establish Bhopal as a major tourism hub.
