Celebrations after India’s victory in the ICC T20 World Cup turned violent in Bihar. The Masjid Crackers Clash After Team India Win created tension in parts of the state and led to arrests and a murder case.
The incident began when some youths burst crackers near a mosque while people were offering night prayers. Worshippers objected and said the loud noise disturbed their prayers. Soon an argument started, and the situation escalated into a physical fight between two groups.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the clash. Officers arrested nine people from both sides and sent them to jail. Authorities also began an investigation and checked CCTV footage from nearby areas.
In another incident the same night in Vaishali district, a dispute while watching the India–New Zealand T20 final turned deadly. A teenage boy named Kundan Kumar died after a severe beating during the fight.
Police deployed extra forces in the area to maintain law and order and prevent further tension.
