Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has reaffirmed the Telangana government’s commitment to securing the state’s rightful share of Krishna waters at the upcoming Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-II (KWDT-II) hearings in New Delhi from September 23–25. Chairing a review meeting with senior counsel C.S. Vaidyanathan and experts at Jala Soudha, he said Telangana would fight to ensure “not a single drop of its water goes waste.”
The Minister stated that Telangana is demanding 71% of 811 TMC, backed by evidence of historical neglect, drought-prone areas, and Andhra Pradesh’s unauthorised outside-basin diversions. Telangana has stressed equitable distribution, updated crop water requirements, and evaporation savings, while opposing AP’s misuse through projects like Pattiseema and Pulichintala.
Uttam Kumar Reddy confirmed he would personally attend the hearings, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also joining consultations. He said the Congress government is determined to utilise every drop by expanding reservoirs, LIS projects, and offline storages.
